The Kitchen Towel in Farmhouse Blue
A hardworking kitchen towel or cheese board liner handwoven with post industrial textile waste in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Here handloom weavers have been transforming fibre into cloth since the 8th century. A short fibre length resulting from shredding textile waste into fibres might pose a challenge for machines, but not for these weavers. The result is a towel that is dense, highly absorbent, and designed to be used hard.
It softens with every wash rather than degrading. The pattern is woven in, not printed, so it holds through years of use. This is the Deccan Collection's everyday workhorse.
