The Kala Cotton Hand Towel Set
RAIN-FED: Kutch drylands · No irrigation, no chemical inputs
The Kala Cotton Hand Towel is part of the Dune Collection; textiles from Kutch, Gujarat, where Kala Cotton grows on rainfall alone in the drylands of Rapar and Bhachau. This is an heirloom, indigenous cotton: a short-staple fibre that industrial mills reject and only human hands can work. What the machines call a flaw is where the texture comes from.
Handwoven in a 2×2 twill, the weave structure behind fine suiting, gives the cloth its slight sheen, its supple drape, and a surface your hands will keep returning to. Soft from the first use, prewashed, and woven dense enough for years of daily service. Ivory that belongs beside any tap it hangs near. The kind of towel that guests comment on.
