The Caravan Table Runner is part of the Dune Collection: textiles from the semi-arid grasslands of Kutch, Gujarat, where sheep and camels graze at 100–500 metres through heat and drought. Both fibres are in this piece. The camel wool gives the browns and greys; the sheep wool takes the natural dyes that make the night sky, the moon, and the dunes.

It is woven in Kharad, a flatweave developed by nomadic communities whose ground looms could be set up, taken down, and carried across the desert. The weaver-artist farms in Kutch and weaves alongside it. He trained under Dayabhai, one of the last Kharad masters in the region, and his work has been recognised with state-level awards. The three camels under a rising moon are his own composition: a caravan crossing the same terrain the fibre comes from.

Hung as a tapestry or wall art, the scene reads as it was woven - dunes to moon. Laid along a console it brings interest with its earth tones and texture.
