The Kala Cotton Pillow Cover is part of the Rann Collection — textiles from Kutch, Gujarat, where Kala Cotton grows on rainfall alone in the drylands of Rapar and Bhachau. This is an indigenous cotton: a short-staple fibre that industrial mills reject and only human hands can work. The handspun yarn gives the cloth its slight irregularity and dry, structured hand.

Handwoven in a fine herringbone of ink and unbleached white, a pattern that reads as a soft, textured blue across a room and reveals its zigzag up close. Finished with an invisible zipper. Sold as a cover; a matching insert, filled in-house with two to three pounds of loose Dorset wool from Revolution Wool Company, Ontario, is available separately.
