The Kala Cotton Herringbone Pillow in Ivory
RAINFED · Eastern Kutch · No irrigation
The Kala Cotton Pillow Cover is part of the Rann Collection — textiles from Kutch, Gujarat, where Kala Cotton grows on rainfall alone in the drylands of Rapar and Bhachau. This is an indigenous cotton: a short-staple fibre that industrial mills reject and only human hands can work. The handspun yarn gives the cloth its slight irregularity and dry, structured hand.
Handwoven in a fine herringbone in unbleached white. Finished with ties. The front panel is hand quilted with Dorset sheep wool from Revolution Wool Company, Ontario. Two fibre terroirs in one pillow.
